100th Day of School

Ahhh, it is that time of year again. No, it's not Valentine's Day yet and I don't mean Inauguration Day. I actually mean the 100th day of school. We have celebrated this day since the oldest kids were really little and they all enjoy planning for it and making things fun for it. I try to do different things I each year and this year, I got inspiration from an Oriental Trading magazine. They had a whole section for the 100th day of school and I copied one of their ideas. We made these cool scratch off pictures that said "100th day of school" at the top. The kids enjoyed those.

(I used to make these all the time when I was a kid. They are super easy and they are fun. You just color really, really hard on a piece of firm paper or poster board and cover the whole page with crayon drawing - using lots of different designs/ patterns. Then you paint the whole thing black. When the paint dries, you can scratch it out with a toothpick and make cool pictures. Very easy and it was fun for something different this year.)

We also read several "100th Day of School" books from the library. All the kids brought collections of 100 things. We did 100 exercises (10 of 10 different exercises) and made a snack for the 100th day. It was fun.
